NAISSANCES DE TIGRES BLANCS AU CIRQUE AMAR
Quatre tigres blancs du Bengale sont nés dans la nuit de mardi à mercredi, à Rochefort, dans la ménagerie du cirque Amar, qui faisait escale pour 48 heures. Il ne resterait dans le monde que quelques centaines de ces félins classés parmi les espèces en voie de disparition. C’est la cinquième portée de Citta, leur mère, âgée d’une douzaine d’années.
Le cirque va à présent aller prendre un mois de repos sur ses terres de Casteljaloux (Lot-et-Garonne) avant de prendre la direction de Bordeaux et de l’île de Ré au mois de juillet. Les quatre tigreaux pourront être vus par les visiteurs.

Circus Flora Soars to the Moon for its 27th Big Top Production
Powered by Ameren, St. Louis’ own one-ring circus announces an all-new show, A Trip to the Moon, channeling Georges Méliès’ iconic film, May 30 – June 23

In its 27th big top production, St. Louis’ own Circus Flora goes where no circus has gone before: to the moon. Powered by Ameren and inspired by Georges Méliès’ groundbreaking 1902 film, A Trip to the Moon, Circus Flora's creative team captures the film’s imaginative spirit under the big top, May 30 through June 23, next to Powell Hall.
Circus Flora’s A Trip to the Moon borrows this iconic piece of cinematic history and Méliès’ artistic instruments to construct the visual styling, costuming and narrative elements for its 2013 production.
An illusionist and magician by training, Méliès is revered as the father of narrative cinema and a pioneer of special effects like stop-motion photography, dissolves, multiple exposures, and hand-painted color. He was also in part the inspiration for the 2011 Academy Award-nominated film, Hugo.
“I see a kindred spirit in Méliès,” said David Balding, Circus Flora’s artistic director and producer. “He knew how to transport his audience and suspend their belief of what was possible. And yet over time, our world has become so dominated by what we see on screens that our immediate response is disbelief. I like to think that we are channeling Méliès’ aesthetic to show our audience what is possible in very real acts of physical daring.”
A Trip to the Moon incorporates a world-class roster of performers and musicians into its reimagination of the iconic film, including the beloved Johnny Peers & the Muttville Comix, star equestrian Lisa Dufresne, Carlos Svenson and his Magical Flying Goats, Yo-Yo the Narrator, the St. Louis Arches, and the Circus Flora band led by Janine Del’Arte. Also taking center stage are “International Man of Mirth” Rob Torres, Mad Scientist (and juggler) Kellin Quinn, and Andrew Adams and Helena Reynolds in an aerial performance that could only happen outside the bonds of Earth’s gravity.
Also appearing are favorites The Flying Wallendas and The Flying Pages. This year, the Pages take to the sky in an all-female flying ensemble never before seen in St. Louis. “I find it fascinating and moving that Méliès’ film came from a time that could barely imagine commercial aviation, let alone space travel,” Balding said. “To this day, the moon remains a symbol of the limitless possibilities of humanity – much like the sight of a woman on the flying trapeze or a man walking on the wire.”
Tickets start at $10 and go on sale March 1; group tickets are available now. A Trip to the Moon opens May 30 with a peanut-free preview and runs through June 23.
Show times are Tuesday through Thursday at 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m.; Sunday at 1 and 5:30 p.m.; and “Little Top Wednesday” at 10 a.m., a special one-hour show for smaller kids or the “kids at heart.”

MUSEE DU CIRQUE ET DE L'ILLUSION: BENEDICTION DES ANIMAUX
Le MUSEE du CIRQUE et de l'ILLUSION, situé à DAMPIERRE en BURLY (Loiret), organise pour la 8ème année, la Bénédiction de tous les animaux domestiques et exotiques de propriétaires privés et de cirques, cette bénédiction sera donnée par le Père Bernard Bellanza , l'Aumônier des gens du cirque et des forains, le dimanche 23 juin à 15h sous un chapiteau implanté sur le parking du Musée. L'entrée est gratuite.
Cette année encore Rémy Demantes, le Propriétaire du Musée, donne toujours plus d'ampleur à cette belle manifestation, les espèces baptisées seront variées: bébé tigre blanc et adultes, chimpanzés bonobos, loups chameaux, perroquets, chevaux Camarguais, serpents, chèvres, ainsi que de nombreux animaux domestiques. Les spectateurs peuvent venir avec leurs animaux familiers. Comme chaque année Rémy Demantes attend de nombreux artistes lors de cet événement unique en France présidé comme chaque année par Monsieur Emilien Bouglione Directeur du Cirque d’Hiver de Paris.
A l'occasion de cette manifestation, les visiteurs pourront, moyennant le prix d'entrée du Musée, découvrir la nouvelle exposition 2013. L'entrée du chapiteau pour la Bénédiction est gratuite, l'entrée du Musée est de 7.50€ pour les adultes et de 5.50€ pour les enfants de 4 à 13 ans avec en prime un spectacle surprise.
