FESTIVAL DE LATINA: AVEC UN GRAND MAÎTRE ECUYER
Exceptional Guest Star at the “International Circus Festival – City of Latina”: italian animal trainer VINICIO CANESTRELLI TOGNI.
The most classical spectacle of Circus culture, the rich heritage of the traditional Italian Circus, the prestige of a renowned Circus family, the thrill of the relationship between man and horse: with Vinicio Canestrelli Togni the dream becomes reality. Guest of Honour at the fourteenth “International Circus Festival - City of Latina”, Vinicio Canestrelli Togni presents a fabulous display consisting of the largest equine carousel ever seen in a Circus ring.
From October 18th to 22nd, the Big Top of the “International Circus Festival – City of Latina” will be host to Vinicio Canestrelli Togni, illustrious representative of the iconic and legendary Italian Circus family of Lidia Togni. This year the annual place of honour in the ring is occupied by Vinicio Canestrelli Togni, following on from our previous legendary Special Guests from earlier editions, with celebrated animal trainers Giordano Caveagna, Stefano Orfei Nones, Flavio Togni and Redi Montico.
Vinicio is the youngest son of Lidia Togni, one of Italy’s great Circus ladies. Father of two children, Vinicio Canestrelli Togni is the Artistic Director of the Lidia Togni National Circus. Brought up with a love for animals from a tender age, Vinicio Canestrelli Togni decided early on that his future path would involve working with horses, and today affirms that he is totally in love with them. He made his début as an animal trainer at twelve years of age, with a number involving Shetland Ponies. Thirty-five years later Vinicio Canestrelli Togni has created a number using horses of different breeds to create the largest equine carousel ever displayed, elegantly forming five concentric circles within the Circus ring with all horses simultaneously. The result is a magnificent performance, demonstrating the deeply-felt interaction between man and animal in a setting that echoes the faded but charming colours and melodies of a bygone age, that of the old-fashioned carousels.
